At the age of 18, David Foote left his hometown of Caracas, Venezuela to pursue his life long passion of fine art and filmmaking. He attended Parsons School of Design in which he received BFA’s in both Animation and Illustration.
Foote has directed and produced three music videos: A.R.E Weapon’s “Weakest Ones,” The Sword’s “Winter Wolves” and Lansing Dreiden’s “There’s a Line You Can Cross,” which have all aired on MTV, MTV2 and Fuse amongst other channels.
Directing is not Foote’s sole passion. He excels as a fine artist, motion graphics designer, animator, and fashion illustrator. He designed the motion graphics for The Bono Tribute at the Grammy’s, Elle Magazine, Loreal, MTV, the Spike TV GQ Awards, The 2003 Video Music Awards, Music Cares, MTV Jams, and MTV Espanol, amongst others. Foote’s fashion illustrations have appeared in multiple editorials including Women’s Wear Daily. Foote was also recently named: One of the 50 most stylish people in the world by the Daily Mini.

Foote recently celebrated the release of his first book published by Knopf and titled "Modern Fairies, Dwarves Goblins and Other Nasties." The book became a Best Seller a week after its release, becoming number 53 out of all the books in the world on the ranks of Amazon.com. Foote is currently working on two more Children's books as well as directing his first feature film.
As a fine artist Foote's paintings are all created with a dip pen and India ink, injected over an acrylic painted canvas, this technique and style has become his signature.
His previous shows include his April of 2008 solo exhibit at Tribecas L Gallery studio presenting his painting series "New Girls". The success of the presentation led to Foote's second solo show "(in) Res-i-dence" hosted by Whitewall Magazine and Kwiat Diamonds in October of 2008. Shortly thereafter he had a showing at Scope With Gana Art Gallery during Art Basel 2008 and the release of his "David Foote Limited Edition No.10" exhibit in the spring of 2009 in collaboration with Bo Concept. He unveiled his latest solo venture "Madonna and Child" in the fall of 2010, which displayed twelve new paintings and over fifty works on paper. Most recently he showcased his collaboration with artist Anne Koch in an exhibit tiled The Nest at Honey Space in chelsea.
David is currently awaiting the release of his second childrens book with Random House and Knopf titled "The Wondrous Journals of Dr. Wendell Wellington Wiggins". He is also launching a new line of luxury soaps this fall in collaboration with J.Crew through his soap company Jaboneria Marianella Soaps
And he is currently in Pre-Production for his first Feature Film titled "Famous" for which he is the writer and director - starring Famke Janssen, Rosario Dawson and Dianna Agron.
He has been featured in The New York Times, The New York Observer, The New York Post, New York Magazine, Blackbook Magazine, Women's Wear Daily and Whitewall Magazine amongst others. He currently resides in New York City .
